Jackson Lake Jackson Lake State Park Offers Boating Safety Class

Anyone operating a motorboat, including a personal watercraft (pwc) or sailboat in Colorado must be at least 16 years old. Fourteen and 15-year-olds who successfully complete a state approved boating safety course can operate a motorboat, jet ski or sailboat in Colorado. The course is open to adults as well as teens.

Please bring proof of age and a small face photo (1" x 1") to be attached to the certified card, along with the $15 registration fee. A parent or guardian is encouraged to attend the course with the student. Study guides must be obtained before the class. Request your copy at the Visitor Center or send an e-mail to: boating.safety@state.co.us. Include your name, address, contact phone number, and number of manuals needed.
