Turquoise Lake
Directions: Take 6th Street west out of Leadville. Turn right at the stop sign, which is County Road 4, over the railroad tracks. At the three-prone fork, take the far right road, which is the continuation of County Road 4, to the lake.
Fee: $4 fee at Matchless boat ramp, Matchless day area, Tabor boat ramp and Butcher Boy, Lady of the Lake and Maid of Erin picnic areas; $5 fee at the dump stations

Yampa River State Park/Elkhead Reservoir
Directions: Elkhead Reservoir: From Craig: Travel east on U.S. Highway 40 approximately 5 miles to the Elkhead turnoff. From Hayden: Travel north from Hayden on Routt county Road 76 to Routt County Road 78.
Fees: See Yampa River State Park Fees.
Boating: Elkhead Reservoir: Personal watercraft, water-skiing, canoeing and windsurfing. Boating prohibited if it creates a white-water wake north of buoy line or within 100 yards of the boat ramp.
Yampa River: River boating, eight public access sites.
Fish: Elkhead Reservoir: Non-native warm-water species found in the reservoir include largemouth and smallmouth bass, northern pike, channel catfish, bluegill, green sunfish, black crappie and western white sucker. Although not a warm-water species, some trout do live in the lake. Native species include round tail chub, speckled dace, flannel mouth sucker and blue head sucker.
