The lake is all but gone and pretty much a mudhole. Call Division of Wildlife office in Colorado Springs for current rules regarding boating. 719-227-5200
Camping

The park has been turned into a State Wildlife Area on Oct. 1. Wagon Wheel and Foster Grove campground have closed permanently. North Cove is currently closed due to waterfowl season. East Beach has re-opened to a primitive no camping fee area. Key word is primitive. There will be no electric or water available for camping in these two campgrounds. All that is available is a picnic table and vault toilet.
Fishing Report

Call Division of Wildlife office in Colorado Springs for current rules regarding fishing. 719-227-5200. Numerous dead fish line the shoreline.
Hunting

State Wildlife Area is open to hunting. A few people hunting ducks but it is tough with the mud due to the draining of the lake. About 1000 geese and 5000 ducks at the lake or below the lake.

Visitor center is closed permanently. Camping fees end on Sept 25th and all park fees end on Sept 30th

Water Levels

Lake elevation is 3636. About 200 acres of shallow lake with mudlined shore.
