Boat Ramps - 5/16/2012
Both the main boat ramp and the Heron Cove (PWC) ramps are open. The main boat ramp provides boat access to the lake. The Heron Cove ramp is used strictly to launch personal water craft and small sailboats. Boats must be properly registered and equipped in accordance with the State Law. All vessels are required to be inspected for Aquatic Nuisance Species (Zebra Mussels, et al.) prior to launching. Please help us protect our waters from these destructive creatures. Take time to read park and boating regulations posted at the boat ramp and help to promote safe boating. The ANS Inspection station is located at the main boat ramp. The aquatic nuisance species (ANS) vessel inspection station hours are: May 1 to October 1, 2012: Daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Outside of the inspection hours, boats are required to have valid pre-inspection documentation (seal and receipt) prior to launch
Campgrounds - 5/16/2012
Boyd Lake State Park campground has 148 excellent, paved, electrical, pull-through campsites, which can accommodate tents, pick-up campers, trailers and motor homes up to 40' in length. If you do not have a reservation during the summer peak season, you may camp at Boyd Lake if space is available. BUT you need to be sure the site you choose does not have a reservation card in the numbered post marker. We recommend you reserve camp sites for any weekend day/nights & any stay longer than 2 nights. You have the site until 12:00 (noon) the next day. To make reservations go to the camping page or call (800) 678-2267(CAMP) OR call (303) 470-1144. Please note that camping reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance of your stay, and you must have both the camping permit and a daily or annual park pass. This loop has restrooms available. Playgrounds, horseshoe pits, picnic tables and grills create a very family-friendly experience. A dump station is located at the top of the campground for campers only
Dump Station - 5/16/2012
Our dump station is located West of our campground. A DAY OR ANNUAL PASS AS WELL AS A VALID CAMPING PERMIT IS REQUIRED TO USE THE DUMP STATION.
Entrance Station - 5/16/2012
The Entrance Station is located north of the Visitor Center on N. County Road 11C.
Fishing Piers - 5/16/2012
ADA Fishing Pier is located in the Marina Inlet with a paved path from the parking lot to the pier.
Food Service - 5/16/2012
Philly Boys from the east coast and is bringing some of the best food to Boyd Lake. Philly Boys is located at the Swim Beach Pavilion. Their Philly Cheese Steaks were rated “Best Philly's in Philly”. Also try their shaved ice, with over 50 flavors and other refreshments. A mobile truck will be available on most weekends. The Swim Beach Pavilion location will open Memorial Day Weekend.
Group Picnic Area - 5/16/2012
The "Mariner Point Group Picnic Area" is open every year from approximately mid-May to mid September for use, and is available by reservation only. The reservation can be made 180 days in advance of the reserved date. The GPA it can accommodate up to 200 guests! The Group Picnic Area has a great view of the Park and the mountains in the distance. It has twenty 8' picnic tables and two large serving counters. It also has many amenities including a beach volleyball pit, horseshoe pits, playground equipment, a fireplace, and BBQ grills. The cost to rent is $90 Monday - Friday and $180 Saturday, Sunday and holidays. Please note this does not include the daily park entrance fee. This is a perfect location somewhat isolated from the rest of the Park, we often host school and business groups. This is also a great site for an outdoor wedding. Reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance by completing and submitting the GPA Rental Agreement and submitting it to the park office by mail, email (boyd.lake@state.co.us, in person or by fax (970-667-0071). There is a GPA Rental Agreement, Brochure and the Reservation Calendar that lists current openings, and an Alternative Pass Request under the "Group Picnic Area" tab.
Marina - 5/16/2012
The Marina business hours are 10:00 am - 4:00 pm on weekdays and 9:30 am - 5:00 pm on weekends. The Marina has monthly and seasonal slips and moorings, boat rentals (ski boats, pontoon boats, fishing boats) and personal watercraft rentals. The store carries fishing supplies, live bait, groceries and camping supplies. Call 970-663-2662. A copy of the Marina brochure is listed under the publication section.
Park Office - 5/16/2012
The Park Office is located at 3720 N County Road 11-C, Loveland, CO 80538. Our telephone number is 970-669-1739, email us at boyd.lake@state.co.us . The Visitor Center is open from 9 am to 5 pm, Daily, where you may register your boat, OHV or snowmobile and purchase various passes and permits.
Picnic Sites - 5/16/2012
Boyd Lake State Park features sixty seven individual picnic sites. These sites are available "first-come-first-serve." Some have a shelter and most have a grill at the site.
Showers - 5/16/2012
Showers are available at each of the 3 buildings in the campground, situated between Loop A-B, Loop C-D & Loop E-F. The cost is $0.75 for the first 3 minutes and $0.25 for each minute thereafter. You may obtain a map of the campground under our Maps section.
Swim Beach - 5/16/2012
Swiming at the Boyd Lake State Park Swim Beach is permitted from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend at “the swim beach,” which is located on the west side of the lake, mid way between the campground and marina. Colorado State Park swim beaches do not have lifeguards on duty. Swim at your own risk. Children must be supervised by adults at all times. The Boyd Lake Swim Beach offers a sandy beach for playing or sun-tanning, a playground and a buoyed swim area for cool relief during hot summer days. Glass, pets, cooking grills, boats and fishing are prohibited at the swim beach. Swimming from vessels is permitted from sunrise to sunset in the three designated no-wake areas as shown on the map in the Boyd Lake State Park Brochure (North No-wake Area and East No wake areas 1 and 2). USE CAUTION - HAZARDS MAY EXIST
