Boating
-
5/21/2012
Launching has commenced at the Iron Creek ramp. Aquatic Nuisance Species (ANS) boat inspections will be taking place there. Remember that it is illegal to launch a trailered watercraft that has not been inspected or sealed. All hand launched vessels, trailered or not, with motors must be inspected, as well.
Camping
-
5/21/2012
Both campgrounds are currently open. Walk in sites are available or reservations can be made at least 3 days in advance of your stay. Campers that have a Senior Citizen Aspen Leaf Annual pass affixed to their windshield receive a $3 discount off the normal camping fees on Sunday-Thursday nights only-not including holidays.
Fire Restrictions
-
5/21/2012
All fires must be in grills or firepits provided. Please keep a shovel and a bucket of water nearby, as the fire danger is more of a concern this year.
Fishing Report
-
5/21/2012
Pike fishing is still consistent with fish upwards of 29 lbs. and 43" being caught. A few bass have been reported, as well as crappie and catfish.
Park Entrance
-
5/21/2012
The Visitor Center will be open 8-4 daily. Please STOP at the window in order for an attendant to view your pass. You must have a valid pass in order to enter the park at all entrances, day or night. Starting May 25, the Visitor Center will be open from 8am until 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays through the Labor Day weekend in September.
Seasonal Closures
-
5/21/2012
The bath house at the peninsula is currently closed. The peninsula boat ramp is closed, so all launching is being done at Iron Creek. The swim beach at the peninsula is closed, but will be open for Memorial Day weekend.
Water Levels
-
5/21/2012
It does not appear that the lake will fill completely this year. Diversions of our inlets have started earlier than usual due to the dry conditions. Water is also already being drawn from the reservoir.
Water Temperature
-
5/21/2012
The water temperature is currently in the low 60's.
