Camping - 5/18/2012

Camping is now first-come, first-served until May 25, 2012 at Revernd's Ridge campground only. Aspen Meadow campground is currently closed.

Fire Restrictions - 5/18/2012

As of 5:00 PM 5/10/12 Jefferson County will lower its fire ban to a stage 1 level. Campfires and grills will once more be permitted throughout the park in designated pits and stand-up grill areas only - includes campfires in Reverend's Ridge.

Fishing Report - 5/18/2012

Slough and Kriley Ponds were stocked with Trout on May 2. The remaining ponds were stocked in October. Golden Gate Canyon State Park offers five fishing ponds open year round to all park visitors. The ponds are Kriley, Slough, Ranch Ponds East and West, and Dudes Fishing Hole. Each angler is allowed four fish per day with eight being the maximum number in position. Anglers have the best success in the early morning and the hour before dark. No live baits are allowed with the exception of worms. Please call the Visitor Center for directions at 303-582-3707.

Hunting - 5/21/2012

Hunting will close in the park at dusk on Friday May 25. The season will re-open Tuesday September 4, 2012. ALL hunters must sign the hunter log book, located in the visitor center. The log is kept on the visitor center deck outside of office hours. The park allows a maximum of 35 hunters per day. 2012 Gren Ranch Applications now available on the "Green Ranch" page. Park Entrance - 5/21/2012

The Visitor's Center is open daily from 9am- 4pm. Summer hours will be 8:00 AM- 6:00 PM as of Friday May 25. In addition, there are self-service stations at all entrances to the park and at various locations with-in the park to purchase your daily park pass.

Seasonal Closures - 5/21/2012

Shower house and laundry facilities will re-open on Friday May 25. All loops are open in the Reverend's Ridge Campground. Dump station is open. Aspen Meadow campground is closed until Memorial day weekend.

Swimming Conditions - 5/18/2012

Swimming is not allowed in any of Golden Gate Canyon State Park's ponds.

Trails - 5/18/2012

35 miles of trails await you - Come up and explore. All trails are currently open. Please be sure to check trail restrictions, some trails are for hiking only, while others are open to multiple use. There is no motorized use allowed on any of the trails.
