There are two boat ramps and docks at Highline Lake available during boating season, March 1 through September 30, lake conditions permitting. There is a small ramp at Mack Mesa for use with hand or electric powered boats.
Camper Services Building

Located in the center of the Campground, the Camper Services Building is open year-round, with coin-operated, pressurized hot showers and updated restroom equipment. In the laundry room are coin-operated washers and dryers.

You'll soon find that one day at Highline Lake just isn’t enough! Camping here allows more time for a family reunion, mountain biking with the gang, exploring the area or escaping to the beauty of nature. Lush turf grass and mature shade trees create an oasis for camping, including a nighttime canopy of stars to soothe the soul. Water hydrants, showers, laundry and dump station are available. Reservations are strongly suggested for weekends March through October, as the campsites go quickly. Visit the campground maps on Reserve America or Highline Lake State Park web pages to choose a campsite.
Duck Blinds

During waterfowl hunting season, there are seven blinds available to hunters. Check the conditions page for hunting information during waterfowl season.
Dump Station

The dump station is located in the campground, near the camp host sites. Each vehicle entering Highline Lake State Park is required to display a valid Colorado State Parks annual pass or a $7 daily vehicle pass.
Entrance Station

All required passes, registrations, and fishing and hunting licenses may be purchased at the staffed visitor center, located on the east side of the park; annual, daily, regular and Aspen camping passes can be purchased with cash or Visa/MasterCard at the automated machine to the right of the visitor center. The entrance station at the West park entrance is staffed seasonally; the automated dispenser at the West park entrance accepts cash, Visa or MasterCard to purchase annual or daily passes. Daily vehicle, camping, and annual passes are available at staffed and automated entrances; Aspen Leaf and multiple annual passes are only available at the staffed entrances. Select passes are available at camp host sites. Boat, OHV and snowmobile registrations are available at the staffed west entrance station and the visitor center. All passes; boat, OHV and snowmobile registrations and fishing and hunting licenses are available at the staffed visitor center.

Group Campground

Group tent camping for up to 100 persons is available by reservation, typically March through October. Great for TENT CAMPING ONLY, this area includes modern restrooms, water, covered shelter, large grill, electricity, fire ring, volleyball and net, and horseshoe pit with horseshoes. THERE ARE NO RVS ALLOWED IN THE GROUP AREA! Reservations for this area go quickly; reserve your special date as soon as possible! For up to 150 people, this outdoor facility is ideal for fun business or family functions during the season, typically March through October. There’s a large fire grill, covered eating area, modern restrooms, water and electricity, volleyball net and volleyball, and horseshoe pit with horseshoes. Reservations are required, and dates go very quickly; reserve your special date as soon as possible! Call 970.858.7208 or email highline.park@state.co.us to reserve the area.

Retail Store

Located in the Visitor Center at Highline Lake, the retail store offers a variety of not only reminders of park visits, but bags of ice and buckets of nightcrawlers! Check out the t-shirts, 1/4 zip and full zip fleece jackets and caps - all with Highline Lake's own unique logos. Books for all ages, paperback and hardback, on a huge variety of subjects, fiction and non-fiction! Kids' stuff, like 3-D puzzles, 7-in-one tools, wood dominoes and photo cubes to occupy everyone (or the kid in everyone), just in case it rains! Then there's the critter zoo! There are large, small and itsy-bitsy bats, eagles, wolves, skunks, owls, bears, beavers, raccoons and frogs with glow-in-the-dark eyes. Some of our small critters will hang from your refrigerator or locker door! Our selection of items changes regularly, so stop by and see what we have today - you'll be surprised!

Coin-operated, hot showers are available year-round in the Camper Services Building. There's nothing like a nice, hot shower after a day of fishing, hiking or biking, and the shower pressure is great!
Swim Beach

Typically open Memorial Day through Labor Day and near picnicking, the swim beach is a popular way to enjoy the lake. Located near the swim beach, Lakeview Rentals typically provides jet skis, pedal boats, hydrobikes, canoes and a kids' park for rent during the swimming season. Click the Rentals option from the Park Activities link on Highline Lake's home page, or contact Lakeview Rentals at 970.858.2081 for information and fees.
Trails

Hike or bike the 3.5 mile Highline Lake Trail, the world famous 6.4 mile "18 Hour Trail," or connect with several trail loops within the park. The newest addition to the trail system is "Engle Loop," a somewhat challenging one mile section at the northeast corner of the 18 Hour Trail. Within minutes of the park are miles of additional world-class trails such as Kokopelli and North Fruita Desert Area, great for hiking and biking enthusiasts. Stop at the visitor center for all of the trail maps!

Stop by Highline Lake's visitor center! In addition to purchasing all required passes, visitors can purchase OHV, Boat and snowmobile registrations and renewals, as well as fishing and hunting licenses. Our retail store features an ever-changing variety of items! Check out T-shirts, fleece jackets, fishing shirts and other clothing items embossed with our new Highline Lake logos! Our book selection is varied and sure to appeal to all ages, and we have a wildlife zoo of soft, furry critters of all sizes and shapes! Pick up nightcrawlers and 10 or 20 pound bags of ice, during the season! At the visitor center, we also have a wealth of information, brochures, maps, and smiles!
