Biking - 5/14/2013
A paved trail follows all of the main roads in the park. If you catch the trail in Rock Canyon, you can bike along the river to the Nature Center and catch trails that go throughout Pueblo. The extensive trail system behind Arkansas Point Campground offers several degrees of difficulty, for mountain bikers of all ages. For your safety, we do ask that bikes remain on the trails. Boating - 5/14/2013
We are currently in summer boat ramp hours. Both ramps are open from 5am to 11 pm. The lake is open to boating 24 hours a day, but no loading or unloading of vessels will be allowed after ramp hours. We anticipate switching to our winter ramp hours on October 15, 2013. Starting that day, the ramps will be open daily from 5am to 6 pm. Camping - 5/14/2013
The park is one of the most popular camping destinations in Colorado. Year-round campgrounds are close to the city of Pueblo and only a short drive from major shopping areas, the Colorado State Fair, the Pueblo Zoo, and a number of attractions. Canon City and the Royal Gorge are less than one hour from the park. San Isabel Lake and the beauty of the mountains are less than 30 minutes away. Education Programs - 5/14/2013
Lake Pueblo offers a wide variety of educational programs for all ages during the summer months. Learn about Lake Pueblo’s environment at the amphitheater. Take a guided tour along one of the many nature trails or wonder under the stars at our Star Parties. Parks activities are posted throughout the park.
Fishing - 5/14/2013
Lake Pueblo is one of the fishing hot spots in Colorado. The following species can be found in various fishing areas at the park, channel cats, largemouth bass, rainbow and brown trout, walleye, wiper, cutthroat, crappie, and sunfish. The various fishing areas include the Reservoir, Anticlind Pond, Valco Ponds and the Arkransas River. When fishing in the Arkansas River below the dam, be aware of changing flows.
Group Picnicking - 5/14/2013

Hiking - 5/14/2013
Take the paved trial around the park or along the Arkansas River, or get a spectacular view on the top of Arkansas Point trail. A trail map is located at the kiosk at Arkansas Point Campground. There is also a trail over on the north side, trail head at West Fishing Road. This trail follows the shore and can go beyond. Please remember - when hiking with your dog: you must keep them on a leash at all times and pick up their waste.
Horseback Riding - 5/14/2013
Horseback riding is allowed on the Arkansas Point Trail System. Park in the lot at Arkansas Point Campground and ride up into the bluffs for a bird's-eye view. Please note that while horses are welcomed and encouraged on the Arkansas Point Trails, they are not permited on the paved trails or the north shore trails. Horses are welcome for day-trips, but not allowed in the campgrounds for over-night stays.
Hunting - 5/14/2013
Small game and waterfowl hunting is permitted in designed hunting areas during legal seasons after Labor Day. The Wildlife page at www.wildlife.state.co.us can provide more information on hunting regulations. Go to Lake Pueblo Publications for a map of the areas where hunting is permitted on the park.
Jet Skiing - 5/14/2013
Jet Skiing is a must at Lake Pueblo. You're ready for fun when you launch at the North Marina or South Marina. We are currently in winter boat ramp hours. Both ramps are open from 5am to 6pm. The lake is open to boating 24 hours a day, but no loading or unloading of vessels will be allowed after ramp hours. Peak loading and launching hours are 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays during the summer months.
Picnicking - 5/14/2013
Lake Pueblo provides perfect picnic spots. Pack your cooler and some picnic gear and head to one of the 348 sites located throughout the park. Rock Canyon Day-Use Area offers the most popular sites. Anticline Pond (also known as Rock Canyon Pond) provides fun and easy day fishing from a stocked fishing pond and is close to a playground. Osprey is a shady, quiet area nestled along the river. Picnic sites over-looking the reservoir are at the South Marina, at North Picnic, and at West Fishing areas.
Sailboarding - 5/14/2013
A steady breeze is common at Lake Pueblo and makes for a great boarding experience. Just launch at the area named just for this sport: Sailboard! For more information, visit the "Water Recreation" link on the left side of Lake Pueblo's Activities page.
Swimming - 5/14/2013
Swimming is not allowed in the reservoir. Wading in the reservoir is permitted. (You know you are wading when your feet are always touching the ground.) Cliff-diving is dangerous and strictly prohibited. Swimming is ONLY allowed at the Rock Canyon Swim Beach. The beach is currently CLOSED for the season. It is open Memorial Day through Labor Day and the hours are 11 am to 6 pm, Thursdays through Mondays. It is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Wading in the reservoir is permitted. (You know you are wading when your feet are always touching the ground.) Cliff-diving is dangerous and strictly prohibited.
Water Skiing - 5/14/2013

Whitewater rafting - 5/14/2013
Throughout the summer, rivers will vary and swift flows may be present. Always use common sense and keep safety in mind when participating in river activities. The Arkansas River below the dam provides the adventurer an opportunity for kayaking and rafting. Life preservers are required when sporting on the river.
Winter Activities - 5/14/2013
It’s not uncommon to enjoy sunny days that reach into the 60’s throughout the winter season at the park. With a little extra caution and some warm clothes, visitors can boat, fish, camp, hike, or bike all winter long. For more information, visit the "Winter" link.
Winter Camping - 5/14/2013
Limited camping is available throughout the winter. The areas reservable and open year-round are: Arkansas Point’s Loop A: sites 1-27 & 94-95 – NOTE: APC has electrical hook ups and a place to fill up with water. There is no shower or laundry facilities available in the winter, but the flush restroom and dump station are open. Juniper Breaks Loop D: sites 100-124 – NOTE: JBC is a non-electric campground with vault restroom facilities and water is available. Also open year-round is Eagle View (sites 300-316) in Northern Plains. Eagle View has electrical hook ups and a place to fill up with water. NOTE: no shower, laundry or dump station facilities are available in Eagle View the winter. A vault restroom is open.
