Sailing in the Spring
Navajo State Park is Colorado's Answer to Lake Powell.  Navajo Reservoir Extends for 20 miles South into New Mexico.

Boaters and campers enjoy the park year-round. Houseboaters and other power boaters cruise some of the 15,000 surface-acres of the giant reservoir. Daily and seasonal slip and mooring ball rentals and gasoline for boats are available at the park’s Two Rivers Marina.

Navajo’s campgrounds have 138 campsites; all sites are open year-round. Fishing enthusiasts catch crappie, large-mouth and small-mouth bass, northern pike, trout, bluegill and catfish in the reservoir.

Bald Eagles Winter at Navajo

Winter is the perfect time to see eagles at Navajo Lake.  Usually bald eagles arrive in late November or early December and sit in the trees overlooking the lake and rivers in various areas of the park.  Because eagle watching is so popular at Navajo, we carry various books and gift items in the Visitor Center bookstore for the eagle enthusiast.

Cabins Available Off Season

Fall is a wonderful time to be in the park!  The wildlife is much more abundant after the summer crowds are gone.   Getting a cabin reservation is much easier, too, once Labor Day has come and gone.  All three cabins will remain on the reservation system until Dec. 1, and then we still keep Cabin 31 open throughout the winter months.  Early reservations are almost always required in the summer. In late fall, winter and early spring, however, you can often get in at the last minute.  Give us a call at 970-883-2208 for availability.
