Activities at Paonia

Fishing
Paonia is known for its northern pike fishing, which is best from late June until late August. Sorry, ice fishing isn’t allowed.

Boating
Boating activities include water-skiing, boat fishing and general recreation.  Check the main page for water level updates. Boaters must follow current boating rules and regulations. All motorboats, sailboards and personal watercraft must have a current year registration.

Camping
Great for smaller, quieter and more remote camping; this park offers two campgrounds with basic camping facilities.

Wildlife/Nature Study
Without the hustle and bustle of other recreational areas Paonia State Park offers good wildlife watching or photographic opportunities.
