Boat Ramps

THE BOAT RAMP IS OPEN, WILL CLOSE ON NOVEMBER 1! To prevent the spread of aquatic nuisance species (ANS), including zebra and quagga mussels, all vessels MUST be inspected prior to launch. In October inspection hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Vessels planning to launch outside of posted inspection times will require a pre-inspection seal attached prior to launch. Pre-inspection seals are to be removed by boaters upon launching, and placed in the pre-inspection drop box, located at the boat ramp. Boaters should also fill out the pre-inspection log sheet on the top of the drop box. Boaters can obtain a pre-inspection seal at the Ridgway State Park Inspection Station.
Cabins and Yurts

Three comfy Yurts are available in the Dakota Terraces campground, one of which is wheelchair accessible. Yurts are a popular way to do some winter camping! They are also popular camps for hunters and snowmobilers! A yurt is similar to a cabin in that it has a wooden frame. The wooden frame is covered by a large tent-like shell. Each yurt has the following amenities: heat, electricity, microwave, fridge, and sleeping space for 6. They are open and reservable year-round.

All Camper Services Buildings are OPEN! Each campground (Pa-Co-Chu-Puk, Elk Ridge, and Dakota Terraces)has a Camper Service Building with showers, laundry and vending facilities.
Campgrounds

All campgrounds are now OPEN to camping for the season! All camping facilities are available through reservations through Labor Day. Starting on September 9, 2011; all sites will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the Park. The Yurts are also available either first-come, first-serve or through reservations. Please call the park for more information at (970)626-5822x12.
Conference Rooms

The conference room is an ideal location for groups of up to 40 people to hold meetings, seminars and training programs. The room includes chairs, folding tables and audio-visual equipment (VHS player, digital projector, whiteboard, flipchart) and a kitchen. Daily fee for conference room is $100.
Dump Station

The dump station is OPEN; water is available at this site for flushing. It is located in Dutch Charlie entrance for campers in Dakota Terraces campground. Please Note: Non-camping customers need to pay a minimum camping rate to utilize, currently $24, PLUS a $7 day pass.
Entrance Station

The entrance stations at Pa-Co-Chu-Puk, Dallas Creek and Dutch Charlie are not staffed. Please use the self-serve station to the right of the gates for purchasing passes and permits. Park passes and other passes/permits are also available year-round at the Park Visitor Center 8-4:30 (except state holidays which include Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year). All vehicles entering the park must have a vehicle pass.

Weddings, family reunions, and group picnics can be held at any one (or any combination) of our Group Event Facilities. These facilities include the Group Event Facility and the Group Picnic Areas as are listed below. Also available is the Visitor Center Overlook, located at the Visitor Center, overlooking the beautiful Ridgway Reservoir with Mt. Sneffels and the San Juan Mountains as a backdrop. Please see group activities/camping for more information or contact the park office at (970)626-5822 or ridgway.park@state.co.us. The Group Event Facility is now CLOSED, reservations can be made up to 1 year in advance and offer an ideal setting to celebrate weddings, family reunions, company picnics and parties of all kinds. You can rent one or both for an event. Call the park office for availability; check the fees page for rate information. The Overlook is available year-round for weddings, check with park for seasonal hours. There are also three smaller 'Group Picnic Areas' that are available on a 'first come first served' basis or reserved for a small fee by camping groups in the park. Fishing Piers

There are 3 fishing piers on the park. One is located on the reservoir, Northwest of the boat ramp in Mears Bay. There is also a pier on the upper, eastern pond at Pa Co Chu Puk. A third pier is located on the Uncompahgre River, just off the paved 'River Walk' Trail. ALL piers are handicapped accessible. These piers are availble year round, as conditions allow.
Group Picnic Area

The Group Event Facility is now CLOSED, reservations can be made up to 1 year in advance. There are two shelters located in the Pa-Co-Chu-Puk area of the park. Shelter A accommodates 150 people; shelter B accommodates 100 people. Both are next to the Uncompahgre River offering an ideal setting to celebrate weddings, family reunions, company picnics and parties of all kinds. You can rent one or both for an event. Call the park office for availability; check the fees page for rate information. The Overlook is available year-round for weddings, check with park for seasonal hours. There are also three smaller 'Group Picnic Areas' that are available on a 'first come first served' basis or reserved for a small fee by camping groups in the park. Marina

THE MARINA IS OPEN through the end of October. All boats need to be removed from mooring buoys and boat slips before November 1st. The park provides a mooring buoy field, boat slips, and limited dry storage, all of which are currently open for rental. Buoys are available by the day week, or month or for the season. Slips are available for daily or weekly rentals. Please contact the park at 970-626-5822 for availability or for more information.

Picnic Sites

Besides the Group Picnic Areas and Event Facilities, there are other picnic sites throughout the park, available on a 'first-come-first-served' basis. There are some picinic sites with a charcoal grill, picinic table and shade shelter at Dallas Creek as well as the Pa-Co-Chu-Puk day-use area, and the day-use areas located near the swim beach and along Mears Bay in Dutch Charlie. There are also more secluded, less developed picnic sites at Dutch Charlie near the reservoir, behind the boat ramp parking lot. Please contact the park office at 970-626-5822 for details.

Playgrounds are located in each of the three campgrounds, at the swim beach, and in Dallas Creek Deer Run picnic area.
Retail Store

The Retail Store at the Visitor Center is open 8-4:30 daily, except for state holidays of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. The Retail Store has interesting gift ideas, books, clothing and accessaries.

Swim Beach

Our swim beach is CLOSED to swimming but is open for sand play. Please note: Dogs are not allowed on the beach area and all children under 12 must be supervised.
Trails

All trails are open and in good condition. There are 14 miles of trail, open for hiking, biking and general access around the park. The Cookie Tree trail has some slight erosion on the west side of the trail (along the reservoir shoreline) due to the high water level; practice caution, the hazard is clearly marked. All other trails are in great condition. Trail maps are available at our Visitor Center. Enjoy!

The Visitor Center is the great place to start getting to know Ridgway State Park and its surroundings: from park layout and campsites to trails and local places to visit as well as a variety of books and gifts for all ages. Start here to see what there is to do and see. Hours are 8-4:30. The Visitor Center is open year-round except state holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years).
Visitor Center Overlook

The Overlook at the Visitor Center gives a dramatic backdrop of the San Juan Mountains and Ridgway Reservoir. It is a perfect place for events such as wedding ceremonies, and can accommodate up to 100 people. Fees for events include ranger time for parking duty and patrol of trails to ensure privacy. There is also an dressing area. Reservations can be made one year in advance through the Visitor Center.

Ridgway State Park is a popular place to stage a wedding because of the natural beauty and modern facilities. The Visitor Center Overlook and the shelters at Pa-Co-Chu-Puk are ideal areas to hold a wedding.
