Anglers fishing Spinney Reservoir

SPINNEY MOUNTAIN STATE PARK IS CLOSED FOR THE SEASON

For gold medal fishing, it’d be hard to find any better than Spinney Mountain Reservoir.  Anglers can find shoreline or fly fishing, belly boating or trolling opportunities in a peaceful and scenic setting. Check the Conditions page for current fishing conditions.

This isolated retreat is ideal for visitors seeking beautiful views of the Collegiate Mountain Range or just a little solitude from busy city life.  Birders have plenty to see between the ducks, waders and birds of prey.  Boating enthusiasts can enjoy the 2,500 surface-acre reservoir with two boat ramps that are available depending upon water levels.

In order to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species - particularly zebra and quagga mussels - mandatory inspections of all vessels, including belly boats and float tubes are now being conducted at the entrance station and must be completed satisfactorily prior to launching on the reservoir. See the boating and fishing pages for further information.
From Ice-Off to Ice-On

Spinney is open seasonally. Open dates, subject to change, are about April 15th to about November 15th annually.
