Boat Ramps - 5/22/2012
The Marina boat ramp is open daily 10am-6pm as staffing allows, and the Morrison Cove boat ramp is open Fri-Sun 8am-8pm. Aquatic Nuisance Species inspections are required prior to launching. Check the Publications page for inspection hours.
Boating - 5/22/2012
The reservoir is open to boating. All trailered boats are required to be inspected for Aquatic Nuisance Species prior to launching. An updated schedule is available at the inspection station.
Camping - 5/22/2012
The campgrounds have opened for the season as well as restrooms, showers, and dump station. Visitors are welcome to look for campsites on a first come, first served basis but reservations are highly recommended. Reservations are recommended Memorial Weekend through Labor Day Weekend and can be made by calling 303-470-1144 if you live in the Denver Metro area or 1-800-678-2267 if you live outside the Denver Metro Area. Fire Restrictions - 5/22/2012
Fire damger is high but there are currently no fire restrictions in the campgrounds. Conditions are very dry and wind can pick up unexpectedly so use caution when having a camp fire. All fires are required to be in a contained unit such as the grills and fire rings available throughout the park. Shoreline fires are not permitted. Please be mindful of your fires and extinguish them completely when not attended.
Fishing Report - 5/22/2012
Fishing reports from anglers fishing the shore or from a boat have been great. Multiple reports of trout over 9lbs have been landed using power bait near the inlet. Trout have also been hitting on kastmasters and spoons. Pike have started moving into the shallows and coves and are being caught on tube jigs, rapalas, and various crank baits. Tailwaters anglers are using San Juan worms, RS2's and zebra midges. During the busy season for the Tailwaters, anglers are asked to be mindful of the resources and help avoid overcrowding.
Hunting - 5/22/2012
Waterfowl and small game hunting is available in the western portion of the park during legal hunting seasons. The ponds at the New Wetland will be CLOSED to hunting this season due to continued construction and re-vegetation. Hunting is not allowed on the eastern portion of the reservoir or the Tailwaters. Signs are posted throughout the park showing designated areas. More information is available by calling the park office at 970-736-2436. Please review the hunting regulations before your trip.
Road Conditions - 5/22/2012
Roads around the park are currently dry. CR 18 to the Tailwater is open. The gate to Sarvice Creek Wilderness Area is closed.
Spring Colors - 5/22/2012
Purple pasque flower and larkspur can be seen near the tailwater and around the interior of the park along with a few patches of phlox.
Trails - 5/22/2012
All park trails are open and dry. Use caution as there may be areas that are washed out. Remember, pets must be leashed at all times for pet and owner safety and to protect sensitive wildlife that nest near trails.
Water Levels - 5/22/2012
The reservoir is currently 2 feet low.
