Boat Ramps - 5/14/2013 All of our river access sites are open at this time. Camping - 5/14/2013 The Campground at Yampa River Headquarters is open. Electric sites are $20/day and basic tent sites are $16/day. Coin operated showers and laundry facilities are available for camper convenience. Special Note: Camping is no longer available at the South Beach river access site. Camping is available at Loudy Simpson, Elkhead Reservoir and Yampa River State Park Headquarters locations. Fishing Report - 5/14/2013 Fishing is slow but still good. Water temps remain cold with visibility about 2.5 feet. Run off is just starting so fishing in the morning will help with water clarity. We are seeing both trout and pike in the Hayden/Craig areas. Fishing lighter color streamers slow off the bank. Slow retrieve on Rapalas or any minnow imitation should turn fish. There are some big spawning fish out there, be easy if you are releasing fish back. Remember those are our fish for tomorrow. Park Entrance - 5/14/2013 Yampa River State Park Headquarters office is open 8:00am - 4:30pm Mon - Fri. and on Weekends as staffing allows. Self-service fee stations are available at all access sites and Elkhead reservoir. Road Conditions - 5/14/2013 All river access roads are open at this time. Water Levels - 5/14/2013 Water levels are average for this time of year.
