Sunset at Boyd Lake State Park

Boyd Lake State Park has something for everyone: boating, fishing, picnicking, swimming, hiking, biking, and hunting.  During the summer we have music concerts Saturday afternoons at the Swim Beach Pavillion.

All types of watercraft: ski boats, fishing boats, jet skis, sailboats, canoes, use Boyd Lake's 1,700 surface-acres of water. Boyd also has a sandy beach and a pavilion (including coffee shop) for swimmers. Boyd also has a modern campground with 148 paved pull-through sites.

The water temperature is current 57 degrees. The depth is currently 52.1 feet in the center. We have many "Aquatic Nuisance Species" inspectors working to protect your boating interests. The inspection hours are as follows:

09/09/09 - 09/30/09
6:00 am to 6:30 pm Monday-Thursday
6:00 am to 8:00 pm Friday-Sunday

10/01/09 - 10/31/09
7:00 am to 6:00 pm Every day

11/01/09 - 11/30/09
7:00 am to 5:30 pm Every day

ALL boats will be inspected at the main boat ramp and the Heron Cove boat ramp.

A state-certified pre-inspection seal from Boyd Lake (yellow) or another state-certified entity (green) is MANDATORY in order to launch outside of ANS Inspection hours. Please put the seal and the receipt in the drop box located on the east side of the boat ramp.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our lake mussel-free!

If you need to register your boat please do so at the Visitor Center.
