Fall Waterfowl Hunting at Highline Lake

An oasis in the desert, Highline Lake is the recreation epicenter for the Grand Valley with two lakes, lush grass, trails and trees.

No matter the season, Highline Lake State Park is a diverse and welcome retreat. Connected to miles of trails and close to communities, the park makes an ideal base camp for exploring the Grand Junction area.  Whether passing through on mountain bikes, or as an end destination, the park welcomes campers, anglers, families and groups.

Two lakes: two worlds. Highline Lake caters to action like jet and water-skiing, while Mack Mesa Lake is quieter, allowing only wakeless boating.  Fishing is available on both lakes.

Birders have plenty to see here. The Audubon Society designated the park an important bird area; thousands migrate through the area every winter.
Park Information

Construction continues in the east boat ramp area!  This is a long-term project, affecting the east ramp area.  Right now, the east park entrance road is being replaced with what will soon be the park exit.   The  campground and picnic areas  WILL NOT be closed!

Purchase your required daily or camping  passes at the  Self-Serve Parks Pass station at the campground entrance.   Only daily and regular (non-Aspen) camping passes are available at this location, and  only cash and checks are accepted

The automated dispenser at the West entrance to the park, off R Road, accepts MasterCard and Visa debit and credit cards, in addition to cash.  Only daily and Annual passes may be purchased at this dispenser.  To purchase other passes, permits or registrations using cash or checkplease contact a park ranger or visit the park office, located just below the dam.
