Cheyenne Mountain State Park
Enjoy Cheyenne Mountain State Park year round! Renew your spirit and connect with the outdoors while enjoying the sunny but cool days at the newest state park in Colorado. Enjoy hiking, wildlife viewing, or biking on our 20 miles of trails waiting just for you.
You don't have to go far to get away. Colorado’s newest state park is nestled in the landscape that inspired the song, “America the Beautiful.” Enter this park and marvel at the mountains above and the Colorado Springs skyline below.
Meander and explore amidst nature’s diversity with prairie-to-peak eco-systems and 20 miles of hiking and biking trails. Stop by the visitor center for information, a little shopping, and educational exhibits or just to relax by the stone fireplace and the wall of windows.
We have an amazing 1680 acres to explore. Years of thoughtful planning went into the park and visitors can now enjoy recreational opportunities year round. The park offers top-notch
environmental education programs
, trail exploration and picnicking. The campgrounds are open, as well as the Prairie Skipper Group Event Facility.

Prairie Skipper Event Facility season reservations are accepted at the Park Office in the Visitor Center
Prairie Falcon Event Facility season reservations are accepted at the Park Office in the Visitor Center
This Prairie Skipper outdoor pavilion event facility will accommodate up to 200 people and has parking available for up to 85 vehicles. There are horseshoe pits, restrooms, picnic tables, grills, and more!
Prairie Skipper Rental Agreement
Prairie Falcon event facility is an outdoor amphitheatre style event facility that will accommodate up to 200 people. Beautiful site overlooking open areas. Rock step amphiteater style seating suitable site for an outdoor wedding.

If you are looking for opportunities to give back to the community and you enjoy the outdoors and learning about nature, Cheyenne Mountain State Park is hosting a Volunteer Open House on February 25th at the visitor center from 1 to 4 p.m.
Kids Konnecting With Nature Series-Bears and Hibernation

Youngsters 3-to-5 years old and their parents are invited to a guided indoor and outdoor exploration of bears through sensory activities, stories, and a visit to a simulated bear den.
